Brand new Ford Mustang Dark Horse came in at the end of 2025 for the CCD treatment.
Having had his previous Mustang ceramic coated the decision was made to step it up a level this time… and then some.
After carrying out the usual decontamination process to remove any debris bonded to the paintwork the finish had a light refinement.
The challenge on this Mustang was always going to be the bonnet. With it having multiple layers of matte vinyl in three prominent areas the choice of PPF was critical.
Super Matte has been installed over the vinyl with real focus on the edges. With the vinyl being dual layer in places its very difficult not to get a silver outline around the edge.
Ultra Clear Pro has been installed on all the gloss sections of the bonnet including the vent and then positioned as close as possible to the Super Matte.
The aim is to make the install as invisible as you can but there has to be a sensible approach. There’s no point making it impossible to wash the vehicle if there’s always the risk of catching an edge.
There is the part many misunderstand with PPF. It’s not perfection film, it’s protection film.
Other areas protected with profilm_ppf include
✅ Wings
✅ Front bumper
✅ A pillars
✅ Roof leading edge
✅ Sills
✅ Filler cap
All PPF has been coated with Titan Apollo TX130 Dark Matter.
The rest of the paintwork has been coated with
➡️ PX10 Dark Matter base layer
➡️ TX145 Dark Matter on top
➡️ Ultra 4 final layer
This combination provides upto 6 years durability. The plastic exterior trim has been coated with Titan Flexilis.
To add the finishing touches the tyres have been dressed with Garage Therapy Tyre Serum.
